    Sunset Park High School

Welcome to Sunset Park High School!  We are a place and space that is the result of nearly 40 years of advocacy in the community for a school that serves all students in an equitable and inclusive environment.  We strongly believe in people power:  the power of community, the power of families, the power of faculty and staff, and, most importantly, the power of students.  Our goal is to prepare all students for productive and satisfying lives after high school.  As a college preparatory school, part of this mission is making sure our young people have access and exposure to college-ready and early college courses and experiences.  Another part, maybe the more important part, is making sure that students strengthen their advocacy skills, tap into their compassion to positively impact the world around them and recognize all of the ways they are part of the local and global community.  We know their contributions are not only valued and respected but very much needed.  Our students know we care about them and we know they care about us through our culture of mutual respect.

While we are lucky to physically exist in a beautiful building which was completed in the fall of 2009, we are more than just a pretty face.   Our success and ongoing improvement efforts are the result of the hard work and dedication of our community partners, families, faculty, staff and students.  We know there is always room for growth and we are very proud of what we have accomplished so far. Please explore our website to learn more about our course offerings, after-school program, PSAL teams and more.   If you are interested in becoming part of a community that values inclusion and you share the perspective that everyone has something to offer, be sure to come for a visit!
